Whether you are looking for a good side dish for a party or a way to make your Christmas dinner stand out these three unique food ideas for Christmas will be great and trusting options as you step into the yummy food scene. Still fitting traditional Christmas goods, these will stand out while still mixing it up.
Genuine CheEse Platter
I am talking expensive cheese, quality crackers. Drippings like honey still on the comb. Not many families bring this dish to holiday dinners like they do birthdays and other major celebrations. If you are looking for a beautiful dish that exudes maturity and class this is the one.
And if you find yourself needing a dish for a laid back night changing this to a “build your own hot coco” board will do the trick. This can still call for quality chocolates to melt into the warm milk, different marshmallows, coco bombs, candy canes and healthy options for our friends who don’t go crazy treats this time of year! For example, this could be decaffeinated tea with biscottis or scones!
Christmas CaKe
I don’t know about your family, but I have never been around a family that had cake for Christmas! Cake seems to be reserved for every holiday except for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but why do we stop there? Cake always adds celebration to any occasion- and honestly is a good added option for those who don’t like all the pies, cookies and cobblers (because I will admit it- they do get old).
The options for a Christmas Cake is endless. Simple like the one above or we can get a good traditional yet new mix like the one below hitch features gingerbread cookie!
Chicken and Roasted VegEtables
During the Holidays it’s expected we feast largely on casseroles and salads of every kind. We might be lucky if one person remembers to bring a store bought tray of veggies. Or if we truly finish the ham or turkey before it becomes a treat for the neighborhood raccoons. As I get older- though I love tradition- I also see the need for moderation and routine at every time of year including the Holidays. These months can be exhausting, hard, binge-ful, and so out of routine for many of us. That a classic yet really nice meal like this would be just as great as a turkey- but more manageable by many. Classic meals are still welcome and should be served during this time of year. It also gives a good way for more vegetables to join the Christmas scene.
With that I hope you enjoyed! Tell us your unique meals for the Holidays below! How are you going to use or transform our list above?
